Hello & Welcome
For a large number of you this is your 1st of many Margerett’s Memo’s. It is fantastic to have you as part of the Acorn family & we know you are going to have fun.
Our products are great and our range is expanding all the time. The product specials are fantastic & a great way to save money. Buy them now & sell on at the regular price.
Our Quality is tops & all Acorn & Risso products are made in our own factory in Cape Town.
Best of all is: Our People! We really do have special people. They are helpful & they care. If you are new to Acorn I’m sure you have already experienced this.
We are a family business, with Yvonne Macfarlane being the MD, Robert Macfarlane, my husband & myself, Margerett, being Directors. Our son, Andrew is kept busy as well. We are accessible to you at any time. Just drop an email or phone. Your friendly contact person in the office is Vicky, to assist with the admin & answer any questions you have.
So, what is this industry you have joined? Called "Network Marketing", it is, to many people, a “black box”. I am going to give you some simple pointers. Nothing complicated, but the basics of Network Marketing. Six tips as to what to do in your business.
No. 1 - USE YOUR PRODUCT: How easy is that? Besides, your products are cheaper than anyone else’s.
No. 2 - SELL YOUR PRODUCT: Having used your products, they are much easier to sell. Your natural enthusiasm for your products will come through, and it is catchy.
No. 3 - STUDY: Go onto the internet, read books & do whatever else you can to learn all about Network Marketing.
No. 4 - ATTEND FUNCTIONS: These can be "Network Marketing" functions, a business breakfast, school meetings or even family get togethers.
No. 5 - SHARE THE OPPORTUNITY: Tell everyone about what you are doing. Every chance you get, talk about your business. Share your excitement.
No. 6 - BE A TEAM PLAYER: Network Marketing is made up of Teams and you are part of a team. Find out who else is in your team, up & down, and exchange ideas. You are not in Acornkids alone. Learn from others & let them learn from you!
Well, there you have the 6 basic principles for Network Marketing:
1. Use your product 2. Sell your product 3. Study 4. Attend Functions. 5. Share the opportunity. 6. Be a team player. Start putting them into practice today. Make them a habit, let them become 2nd nature to you!
Now, great news for all of you who have joined this year, 2010. I have got 3 copies of the book “Network Marketing for Dummies" by Zig Ziglar (one of the industry “greats”), and one of them could be yours. All I want you to do is email me a 50 word story as to why you joined Acornkids and how you are enjoying it. This to be done by 15th March. I will choose the 3 most motivational and a book will be yours. My email address is - mem@new.co.za.
I will need your name and membership number. The 3 winners will be mentioned in the next Margerett’s Memo. I can promise you it is a book well worth having. Good Luck!
I have to put this idea out as a way of getting your products known & its so easy. Next time your child goes to a birthday party, don’t spend your money at the toy shop. Spend money on Acornkids & YOUR BUSINESS! Slip in a business card or brochure with the product. The present will be a hit & you will soon have Sue’s or Peter’s mom wanting more. Keep a small stock so you will always have something ready. Is Mom-in-law or Granny having a birthday? A Risso Body Butter or Hand Cream works for everyone.
The more you can get your products out there, the more visible you will be & the more you will sell. Do you have a friend who has many contacts, but does not want to join Acorn? Get them to take orders on your behalf and you can reward them, either with product or tickets to a show. The thing to remember is, when you start any business, you need to spend something on marketing. You need to work out how much you can spend to keep a small stock to sell and use as incentives. Some people often buy on impulse & want product right away. That is where having a small stock will be of benefit to you. If you are hosting a tea or event, purchase a bottle of RISSO RUMBA or RISSO TANGO and spray into the air. You will receive many comments as to the lovely scent & orders could follow. (you get the added bonus of using it between times).
Put your thinking cap on and be creative. Be the Conductor of your own Orchestra & play the tune you want! Think out of the box! Be the entrepreneur you have always wanted to be!
Until next time,
Margerett
